 PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN FOR RESPONSIBLE WATER CONSUMPTION 2025.

Aigües Sant Lluís S.L. is launching a new public awareness campaign aimed at an specific segment of large consumers to ask for their active collaboration towards responsible consumption of drinking water in their homes. This initiative focuses on the group of subscribers with an average consumption over the last three years that equals or exceeds 150 m3/quarter (1,666 litres/day), during the months of July, August and September. This campaign consists of a personalised letter to each of those selected, in which they are asked for their active collaboration in taking measures aimed at reducing domestic water consumption and not exceeding 250 litres/person/day, taking into account the current scenary of falling water reserves, in the context of climate change and global warming. It is recommended to pay attention to water consumption in gardens, such as replacing natural grass with plants adapted to the Mediterranean climate and covering swimming pools when they are not in use to avoid evaporation as much as possible. It is reminded that the emptying of swimming pools is prohibited, as well as the emptying of salt water pools into the sewage system. Also included is information related to different regulations that have come into force and will come into force, directly affecting the supply of drinking water, also calling for individual responsibility in order to preserve the good health of the aquifer. We hope that this campaign will have a good response and will be evaluated after the summer.

As a novelty this year, the segment of homeowners' associations with supplies for watering gardens and swimming pools in communal areas has been included.

As last year, a communication with a specific text is also included for hotel establishments considered to be large consumers.

The slogan of this campaign is: Attention, water is the future!

Campaign's objective: The reduction of drinking water abstractions in order to avoid the overexploitation of the aquifer and the consumption of litres/inhabitant/day.smiley
